How to Make a Cheater Tech Deck

Aug 11, 2009 10:33 PM

Are you terrible at finger boarding (aka Tech Decking), but still want to show off? Here's your answer! This is an easy way to make a paper fingerboard that lets you do all kinds of tricks, even if you're terrible at finger boarding.

Lay your index card down on a surface in front of you lengthwise, so one of the short ends points towards you.

Fold about an inch of the index card forward, and continue folding up the card until it's all rolled up so you have a flat one-inch wide board.

Tape the loose edge of the paper down.

Fold the short edges of the board in about a half of an inch, then unfold. The short edges should not stick up a little bit, so they resemble a real skateboard.

Grab your gum wrapper. Center the wrapper on the board, and fold its edges over onto the underside of the board. Secure them with tape.

Cover the entire bottom of the board with tape. This is so the board will glide smoothly.

Now that the gum wrapper is covering the board, your fingers should slightly stick to the board , allowing you to jump with the board about five times higher than you would normally be able to.

Tips

  • Using a cool looking gum wrapper (like a 5 gum wrapper) will probably stop people from wondering why your fingerboard has a wrapper on it.

Things You'll Need

  • Index card
  • Gum Wrapper
  • Scotch Tape
